A qualification designed for leaders/supervisors in first line management roles. During the qualification you will develop a range of essential management skills applied and refined in a real working environment.


The qualification will enable you to build the leadership capability to motivate teams and influence with confidence. Gain a broad understanding of key management and leadership theory to underpin and support growth and performance.

On completion of the apprenticeship, apprentices may choose to register as associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management to support their career development and progression.

Team leader courses

Starting Off delivers blended training opportunities with the option of fully remote learning and can be accessed by anyone across the UK. We have a training centre in Northampton than can be utilised by learners if required.

Level 3
Team Leader or Supervisor

A Team Leader/Supervisor is a first line management role, with operational/project responsibilities or responsibility for managing a team to deliver a clearly defined outcome. Key responsibilities of a team leader will include supporting, managing and developing team members, managing projects, planning and monitoring workloads and resources, delivering operational plans, resolving problems and building relationships both internally and externally.

 

The course takes approximately 18 months and delivery is through online resources, the visual learning environment and practical workshops, culminating in an end point assessment. A trainer will visit the workplace every 4-6 weeks for coaching and monitoring meetings. The apprentice will need to spend 20% off the job training.

Level 5
Operations or Departmental Manager

An Operations/Departmental Manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects, achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives as part of the delivery of the organisations’ strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner and can be working in the private, public or third sector, in all sizes of organisation.

 

The course takes approximately 2.5 years (30 months) and delivery is through online resources, the visual learning environment and practical workshops, culminating in an end point assessment. A trainer will meet with the learner every 4-6 weeks for coaching and monitoring meetings. The apprentice will need to spend 20% off the job training, which is typically 6 hours per week.

Working with you on Functional Skills

All Apprenticeships require learners to demonstrate a minimum level of Maths & English, however learners may be exempt from these with relevant GCSE grades. Don’t worry if you need to work with us on this as we’ll get you through them as part of your training.
