Employer Benefits

How funding works.

If you are a large employer, Apprentices will be funded through your Apprenticeship Levy account.

For non-levy paying companies, the Government will fully fund the apprenticeship training for apprentices aged 16-21.  For apprentices aged 22 or over, the Government will fund 95% of the apprenticeship costs.

The Government will also fully fund apprentices who are aged 22-24 who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan or have been in the care of their local authority; who are employed by a company who have fewer than 50 employees.

And did you know… employers do not have to pay Class 1 National Insurance Contributions on all Apprentices under the age of 25!

How to reserve your funding.

Non-levy employers now have to set up an apprenticeship account and reserve the funding for their apprentice prior to sign up – when you start an apprentice with us, your account manager will provide you with a guide on how to do this. The incentive payments running until January 2022 have to be applied for by the employer. To learn more about the apprenticeship service and how to secure funds, you can access this bank of video guides.
